I'm from Puerto Barrios in Guatemala and my dad is a Pastor, so I grew up in the church here and went to the local schools in the area.
I trained and worked as a primary school teacher during this time, also exploring the possibility of going into medicine, ultimately deciding that that wasn't right for me.
I trained for missions as part of the DTS at YWAM Guatemala City, going on outreach in Mexico & El Salvador.
I went on to join Casa Verde, a local missions base in my home town, run independently by former YWAMers, reaching out to various communities around the city and hosting teams from the US and elsewhere. It was during this time that I met Peter/Francis when he did the World Race.
I was able to join YWAM England and worked at Holmsted Manor, which was a whole new cultural environment for me, and helped me perfect my English. Peter/Francis and I got engaged during this time, and at the end of my time here we got married.
We returned to Guatemala and had half a year working with Casa Verde again, before joining YWAM Antigua to do their DTS program together.
We followed God's call out to Malaysia, where I helped with some of the local ministries and spent much of my time looking after our little girl and learning about being a mum.
We now have our little boy with us too, but I'm looking forward to being able to be more directly involved with ministries as we join the base in Antigua.
